This bed is great! My son is 2 1/2 and was still in his crib until now. He slept in it from the first night. It is very sturdy and the rails keep him safe. He loves sliding out of bed in the morning and playing in his tent. I love that I can keep toys in the tent and out of the way. Assembling the bed was not as great. The hardware was labeled very well, but not the actual wood pieces. There are no words on the instructions...only pictures. So on one picture you may not know which step to do first. The worst part was putting the actual tent flaps on the bed. You are given tiny nails and little snaps to nail in but it was impossible for us to do so. We ended up just nailing the tent to the bed itself. It took us about 2 1/2 hrs to assemble it all. Overall, we love the bed and it was worth the hassle.

My son's grandparents bought this for his seventh birthday, none of us noticing the height. It is VERY short for a seven year old. Its the perfect height for our three year old. All assembled, the mattress is about 3 feet off the floor. A growth spurt and my son won't be able to sit under the loft. Also, took us two hours to assemble just the outside frame, not two hours for the entire project like the directions say. Last, the tent is a very bright orange-red, not a deeper fire engine red as I see in the photos. We are buying risers to increase the height of the bed.

Comments about Woodcrest Alexander Tent Twin Loft Bed with Slide:

I bought this bed when my son was 2 years old and the very first night he loved it and slept in it since. He is now 5 years old and still favors his bed. I think there is also a security feel to it being that it is a decent height from the floor. (Danger: jumping and falling from the bed) --I can sit comfortably under the bed and play with the kids, and currently use it to place most toys. Both my husband (height 5'10) or I (5'2) have sat on the bed with our son.
The bed will be handed down to my daughter who is 3 years old.

        Cons:
        1. a few of the slabs under the bed come out and needs constant readjustment.
        2. Some what difficult to dress the bed

Comments about Woodcrest Alexander Tent Twin Loft Bed with Slide:

Was very excited to get my three year old this bed as a big brother gift when he started sharing his room with his new sibling. Great concept, easy to assemble, but SO disappointed when having just put it together I found a huge crack in the head board. If I had noticed this earlier I would have sent the bed/piece back for an exchange, but not interested in going through that process now. This is not as solid/durable a bed as advertized - the wood cracks/dents easily. And the slide is too steep. Without some sort of padding (had to put some pillows by the base) it's a pretty harsh landing!

Comments about Woodcrest Alexander Tent Twin Loft Bed with Slide:

I bought this for my son 3 years ago for his 3rd bithday. I put it together myself with only a little help from my husband, and I didn't think it was too hard. My son has love this bed and it has held up nicely until recently. The slide got a hole it in from one of his toys (granted, he threw it..... but that's what kids do, didn't expect to put a hole in it). And I noticed a few weeks ago that the rails on the slide were cracking. Right down the middle where the slide board slides into the side rails, both rails are cracked and the right side has since broken completely off. I don't know if I can make a new slide or if I can order a new one..... but until I figure it out, the slide is not able to be used. I am a little disappointed that for the price, it didn't last more than 3 years under normal use. And the snaps that were included to attach the tent ripped out of the tent material so that they can no longer be attached.

Comments about Woodcrest Alexander Tent Twin Loft Bed with Slide:

My children LOVE this bed - it offers a play ground in the house - which has been very helpful in this cold weather! They love to climb up and slide down and play in their secret lair underneath - the mess they make stays well hidden as well. It says on the box will take two adults two hours to assemble - THIS is accurate. The price was great - [...] the side rail could be sturdier - we've reinforced it because the children really rely on it for climbing up. All in all - this was a purchase we (my children especially) were very satisfied with.

I purchased this for my 4 year son old. His bigger sister is jealous that he has a slide and "hiding place". He loves his bed - it is so much fun and seems very durable. I've laid in the bed and even gone down the slide :)
I didn't assemble it, but it didn't seem too difficult. My husband only required my help a little on it.
